In 2006 in Sofia was founded the “Bulgarian Association of the Film,
Television and Radio Scriptwriters – BAFTRS”, whose members are some of
the most famous Bulgarian artists in scriptwriting. BAFTRS unites
professionals with the goal to support and nurture the highest possible
quality of writing standard.

BAFTRS was created to uphold and complete the following main goals -
to work for the elevation and maintenance of the prestige of the scriptwriters in
Bulgaria and Bulgarians abroad, to observe the regulation system and protect the
professional interests of itís members, to assist the development of the professional
and creative potentialities of its members, to promote and nurture the prestige of
the scriptwriting profession, and to support the interactios between scriptwriters
and government and nongovernment organizations related to their work.
